How the 4couple website uses cookies and similar technologies
Last updated: September 14th 2026
1. What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how WUMI sp. z o.o. (“we”, “us”, “4couple”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at 4couple.ai (the “Website”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
The 4couple mobile app does not use cookies. It uses only the local storage and identifiers needed to keep you signed in and make the app work, as described in the Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and device identifiers. They can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by a service we use), and “session” (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” (kept until they expire or you delete them).
3. The cookies we use
We keep this deliberately short. We use two categories only.
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Make the Website work: remembering your cookie choice, protecting our forms from automated abuse, and basic security. These do not track you. | Not required. These are essential and cannot be switched off. |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the Website (pages viewed, how you arrived, which links you use) so we can improve it. Provided by our product-analytics service, hosted in the EU. We do not use it to identify you across other sites. | Required. Analytics storage is written to your device only after you click “Accept” in our cookie banner. |
The individual cookies
| Name | Set by | What it does | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
__ph_opt_in_out_* | PostHog (first-party) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so the banner does not ask you again. Strictly necessary. | Up to 12 months |
ph_*_posthog | PostHog (first-party, cookie and local storage) | Holds an anonymous analytics id so repeat visits can be counted as one visitor. Written only after you accept. | Up to 12 months |
| Cloudflare Turnstile challenge cookies | Cloudflare (third-party) | May be set when you submit our support form, to record that the anti-bot check was passed. Strictly necessary; not used for analytics or advertising. | Short-lived |
What runs before you choose, and if you decline
We want to be precise about this rather than claim more than we do. Until you make a choice, and if you decline, our analytics provider runs in cookieless mode: it records anonymous page views and does not write any identifier to your device, so nothing is stored on your browser and nothing follows you between visits. Only when you press “Accept” does it store the analytics id described above. Your choice itself is remembered in the strictly necessary cookie above.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels from advertising networks, cross-site tracking, or session-recording tools that capture what you type or how you move on the page. Session recording is switched off in our code, not just in a dashboard setting.
4. Your choices
When you first visit the Website we show a banner that lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. Accept and Decline are offered as equal choices. Nothing other than strictly necessary cookies is written to your device until you accept.
You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page: it clears the analytics storage and brings the banner back, so withdrawing is exactly as easy as giving. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies and blocking new ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Website from working.
5. Legal basis
Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website. Analytics cookies are used only with your consent, as required by the EU ePrivacy rules as implemented in Poland and by the GDPR, and by applicable US state laws. For US residents: we do not sell or share personal information collected through cookies, and we do not use cookies for targeted advertising, so there is no sale or sharing to opt out of.
6. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Questions: contact@4couple.ai, or by post to WUMI sp. z o.o., ul. Prosta 20, 00-850 Warszawa, Poland.
